Prof. Roel Bellens, Founder and Managing Director is Professor and co-founder of the Department "Finance & Risk Management" at HUB (Brussels) and is/was visiting professor for special financial topics and value management at the universities of Louvain (Belgium), Groningen (The Netherlands), Sofia (Bulgaria), Saint Petersburg (Russia) and Stalowa Wola (Poland). He is a specialist in the field of risk and value management and is advisor to several private and public companies worldwide. He acted also as Group Controller, Area Director and Board Member for Johnson & Johnson in a.o. Japan and the UK (1978 -1986). Roel Bellens has published 3 books and more than 100 articles and case studies, including the original Marlboro Friday case study. He acts also as an independent advisor to the Board of Directors of several Belgian and international companies.
Marianne Goris, Partner and Director of Operations spent most of her career with Seagram. As European Director in London she has been responsible for the set-up of the first European Shared Services Centre of which she was the MD. She was a member of the European Executive Committee and held leading roles in Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance and Marketing. After the sale of the company she bought her own company Napoleon NV in Belgium. Marianne joined Strategus as Commercial Director, shareholder and Board Member. Marianne holds an MBA from Henley Management School (London).
Karel Volckaert, Director of Research is a Civil Engineer Physics (Control Theory). He holds the charter of Financial Risk Manager (GARP) and of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute). After 3 years of research in optimal control theory at Ghent University, Karel joined a Belgian investment bank where he was responsible for quantitative strategies in institutional passive bond portfolio management and in equity hedge funds management. He joined Strategus in 2004 where he currently leads the valuation and risk management projects in life sciences, corporate finance and wealth management.
Prof. Guy Walraevens, Co-founder and Financial Director teaches "Financial Accounting", "Cost and Management Accounting" and "Financial Analysis" at EHSAL in Brussels, UFSIA in Antwerp and KUL in Leuven. As guest speaker he lectures in finance related topics in Belgium and abroad. He has published several books and articles and organises seminars around the central topic of "cash flow".
